Christopher E. Young, 50, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away unexpectedly June, 4, 2022, in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. He was the loving husband of Crystal U. Cammauf-Young. They were married on November 13, 2004.

Born in West Reading, he was the son of Lois R. (Leidy) Young, Muhlenberg Twp., and the late Thomas C. Young. He was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church. He graduated from Muhlenberg High School in 1990 and received a Bachelor's degree from Kutztown University in Secondary Education- History. Chris was employed at KidsPeace Berks Campus for the past 24 years. He was also the throwing coach for the Track and Field Team at Muhlenberg High School for the past 22 seasons. He specialized in the javelin and shot put and coached several County Champions and District and State Qualifiers and Medalists.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother is a brother: Jeremy R. Young, Muhlenberg Twp.; his mother and father in law: Bruce D. and Elaine F. (Meigs) Cammauf, Centre Twp.; and his brothers in law: Braden (Allison), Justin (Lisa), Trevor (Susie), Brent (Jess), Nathan (Jess), and Aaron (Cori). He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews who affectionately called him Bop-Bop. They meant the world to him, and he was very active in their lives. He loved coaching his nephew's youth football team for six years, and he regularly attended their sporting events, activities, and concerts. They were always happy to see him and were quick to climb-up and sit on his lap. Chris enjoyed Star Wars and Transformers and was thrilled when his two youngest nephews started watching these movies and collecting memorabilia.

Chris was well loved by everyone that knew him, especially his students, athletes, and colleagues. He had a heart of gold and cared deeply for all the people in his life.

Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Chris's family has asked that donations be made to KidsPeace in his memory. Chris devoted much of his life and passion to the children educated and cared for at the Berks Campus.
