Cheri L. Riegel-Hettinger, 68, of Shoemakersville, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023 in her residence. She was the widow of the late David S. Hettinger, died October 20, 2001.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Edmond W. "Mondie" and Vivian L. (Dengler) Adams. She graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1972. In her early years, Cheir worked for Dr. Johnson, Reading as a secretary, she then owned and operated Ollie's Tavern, Shoemakersville, for many years, taking over the family business. She always enjoyed gardening, decorating for holidays, and spending time with her grandchildren- especially attending their sporting events. She also enjoyed cooking.

Cheri is survived by one son: Ashley M. Riegel, husband of Kelly (Kachurka) Riegel, Hamburg; two grandchildren: Madison and Carter Riegel; and a half sister: Sheryle J. (Adams) Delewski, Hamburg.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 6:30 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. A visitation will be held from 4:30 to 6:30 pm in the funeral home. A Celebration of Life gathering will be planned for a future date.
