Charles W. Muntz, 89, of Seminole, Florida, formerly of Hamburg, died Sunday February 17, 2013 in Wright's Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Seminole, FL. He was the husband of the late Betty Jane (Pascoe) Muntz passed away December 27, 1987.
Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Abraham M. Muntz, and Esther (Heinly) Muntz. Charles was a Class of 1940 graduate of Hamburg High School. Charles was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War. Charles was employed as a bookkeeper at The Windsor Press Inc., Hamburg from 1970 to 1985, and also worked at Schlenker Motors, Hamburg, from 1955 to 1970. He was a member of the First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Charles was a member of VFW #216, Hamburg, American Legion #273, Madeira Beach, FL., and Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Hamburg. Charles was a former Hamburg borough Councilman, tax collector for the borough, and a church consistoryman for 4 years.
Charles is survived by his son, Gregory S. Muntz husband of Sharon (Wanner) Muntz, Macungie, and two grandsons Conor C. Muntz, and Devin S. Muntz, Macungie. He is also survived by his companion, Leona H. Wengert.
Services will be held Friday at 11 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
