Charles R. Long, 64, of Ontelaunee Twp., died Monday, April 30, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp., shortly after arrival. He was the husband of Jean L. (Christman) Long. They were married on September 3, 1983 and celebrated 28 years of marriage. Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Cyrus E. and Sara B. (Brown) Long. He was a maintenance worker and shop supervisor for Cobra Anchors in Temple. He also worked for Allied Moving, Allentown. Charles was a member of AAA Reading-Berks and the Reading Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed NASCAR, camping and motorcycles. Surviving in addition to his wife is one son: Randy R. Long, and his wife Dawn, Myerstown; step-son: Brian T. Trexler, San Francisco, California; step-daughter: Kim L. Trexler, York; two granddaughters: Alison Long and Erin (Long) Brubaker; and five step-grandchildren: Sophie, Tyler, Joshua, and Shauna Trexler, and Joel Lawrence. Charles is also survived by one brother: Cyrus H. Long, Mohrsville. He was predeceased by a brother: Raymond E. Long. Services will be on Thursday at 1:30 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 2115 Main Street, Centerport. Burial will be in Berks County Memorial Gardens.
