Catherine E. Stump, 66, of Tilden Twp., died Sunday, June 5, 2011 at 5:55 am in her residence. She was the wife of Richard S. Stump. They were married on August 2, 1969 and would have celebrated 42 years of marriage.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of Rev. Catherine A. (Wakefield) Shubrooks, Boyertown; and the late William R. Shubrooks. She worked as a tester for Western Electric, then Lucent Technologies for 35 years, retiring in 2000. Catherine was a member of Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. She was also a member of the Central Berks Lions Club, in which her husband Richard S. Stump served as District Governor from 2000-2001. Catherine was a real fan of Mike Schmidt and the Philadelphia Phillies

Surviving in addition to her husband and mother are two sons: Jason R. Stump husband of Kristie (Faller), Tilden Twp.; and Daniel Schappell, Earlville, Berks Co.; one step-son: Steven Parker, husband of Jan, Shartlesville; three step-daughters: Barbara A. (Stump) Brensinger, Woodstock, Georgia; Julia (Stump) Greenwood, Mohrsville; and Vicki (Stump) Parker, Akron, Lancaster Co.; and nine grandchildren. Catherine is also survived by a sister: Russellene (Shubrooks), wife of Richard Good, Greenfields; a sister-in-law: Carol Shubrooks; and brother-in-law: Cyrus Long. She was predeceased by a brother: Russell W. Shubrooks; and two sisters: Hazel (Shubrooks) Daniels; and Marie (Shubrooks) Long.

A Memorial Service will be held on Satuday at 11:00 am from Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity, Leesport. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. A visitation with the family will be held in the church Saturday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
