Carol A. (Greth) Smith, 79, formerly of Shoemakersville, passed away on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, at Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where she was a resident. She was the widow of Leonard Lee Smith.

Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Helen (Check) Greth. Carol was a 1965 graduate of Fleetwood High School. She was employed as a secretary for CNA Insurance in Reading until her retirement.

Carol enjoyed watching crime shows, collecting angels and spending time with her cats. She also loved boating and visiting Indian River, Delaware.

Carol is survived by her daughter, Cherilyn (Krumanocker) Peters, Bern Twp., widow of Michael Peters; a stepdaughter, Rachel (Smith) Anastasio, wife of Chris, Florida; a brother, Michael Greth, a resident of Laurel Center; three grandchildren, Samantha A. DeLong, Courtney R. (Roth) Schreiber and Cameron R. Roth; and six great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Karen L. (Krumanocker) Roth; and son-in-law: Ricky Roth; four brothers, William Greth, Jeffrey Greth, Edwin Greth and Theodore Greth, Jr.; and a sister, Judy (Greth) Allen.
