Carol Ann Shaffer (67), born on July 12, 1956, departed on January 9, 2024. She stood as the loving and devoted wife of Jeffery Shaffer for 46 years, a mother to Stacey (Wife of Jed Wood) and Jared (Husband of Valerie Shaffer), and a cherished grandmother "Nana" to Abbie, Joanie, Isaac, and Ian Wood, as well as Kylee and Gavin Shaffer.

Carol's life was marked by enduring connections and shared moments. Beyond her roles as a wife and mother, she embraced titles like friend, dog mom, and co-worker, her quiet smile and creative sense of humor and appreciation for things to be in order will be sorely missed.

In her early years she was often found at the bowling alley or the racetrack with Jeff. Up until recent times Carol was also a motorcyclist, riding as a passenger with Jeff as they navigated through the winding country roads for a stop at an ice cream stand or restaurant.

A seasoned camper, Carol found solace in the outdoors, creating lasting memories at her campsite, or on beach trips, wine tours, girls' weekends, and annual Knoebels trips with her loved ones, her passion for camping and spending time with her grandchildren had became her most favorite past time.

Her dedication to family extended to supporting her grandchildren's sports, dance & school activities. Carol was known for her practical approach, she was often quiet but she was heard loud and clear when a referee would make a bad call or an opposing player would do something to effect her grandchildren or their team.

Carol's creativity really shined through while finding satisfaction in crafting and decorating, especially when it came to creating the best Halloween costumes, you could tell she put thought into every detail of her costumes, which usually brought a smile to everyones face.

Carol's legacy is one of shared experiences and simple joys. She is preceded in death by both her father, "Bobby" Correll, and her mother, "Mary Alice" Correll. Carol is also survived by her Brother Terry Correll (husband of Sandy) and sister Leanne (wife of Steve Bashore)

May her legacy of a loving spirit and her creativity be carried on through her children and grandchildren and may she be remembered by those whose lives she touched.

Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 7:30 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. A visitation will be held from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm in the funeral home.
