Carol A. Meredith, 68, of Ontelaunee Twp., died Sunday, May 18, 2014 in her residence. She was the wife of Robert L. Meredith, Sr., who died August 3, 1995. Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late William F. and Mamie A. (Day) Zimmerman. She was a 1964 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. Carol worked as a licensed practical nurse for the Berks Heim. She previously worked for RK Knitting Mill, Reading; and was a member of ILGWU Local 93. Carol was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp., where was the superintendent of the Sunday School. She was also a member of Central Berks Fire Company, Centerport. Carol is survived by one daughter: Lisa A.M. Meredith-Unrath, wife of Thomas J. Unrath, Horsham; one grandson: Michael R. Meredith, Reading; and three brothers: Ronald J. Zimmerman, Sr., Centerport; Russell B. "Zeb" Zimmerman, Mohrsville; and Jeffrey B. Zimmerman, Ontelaunee Twp. She was predeceased by a son: Robert L. Meredith, Jr., who died September 23, 1992; and one brother: William W. Zimmerman. Services will be held on Thursday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Thursday 9:30 to 10:30 am.
