Carlene F. Kessler, 87, passed away on Saturday, October 21, 2107 in Rittenhouse Village where she resided. She was the wife of Russell L. Kessler, who died February 20, 2017. Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late George and Florence (Petrie) Scherrer. Carlene was a graduate of Reading High School. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Spring. Carlene was a caregiver to her husband and enjoyed spending time with her family. Carlene is survived by her children: Ronald R. Kessler, and his wife Donna, Leesport; Kitty A. (Kessler) Pflueger, Blandon; David A. Kessler, West Lawn; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a great-grandson: Brandt A. Pflueger; four brothers and one sister. Carlene was the last survivor of her immediate family. Services will be held on Thursday at 12:00 noon from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
