Carl E. Krick, 80, of Shoemakersville, died Friday, September 20, 2013 in the Reading Hospital. He was the husband of Rosa J. (Brewster) Krick. They were married on December 9, 1955 and celebrated 57 years of marriage.
Born in Hamburg, he was the son of the late Henry G. Krick and Jennie G. (Henry) Krick Eyer. He was a 1951 graduate of Hamburg High School. Carl was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He first worked as a truck driver for Burgmeyer, Consolidated Freight and H.P. Hoffman for a total of nineteen years. Carl then worked for sixteen years for Wetterau Food Distribution; and last worked for Super Value Food Distribution, Tuckerton, for two years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville. Carl was also a life member of the Shoemakersville Fire Company. He enjoyed fishing, bluegrass and country music.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sisters: Betty Lou (Krick), widow of Paul H. Angstadt, Sr., Hamburg; Barbara (Eyer), widow of Evald Wicks, Strausstown; and Peggy (Eyer), wife of Warren Hartman, Shartlesville; one brother: Nelson, husband of Ruth Ann (Gundrum) Eyer, Perry Twp.; and several nieces and nephews. Carl was predeceased by two brothers: Martin C. Krick, husband of Betty (Field) Krick; and John L. Eyer, Jr., widower of Sandra A. (Arndt) Eyer.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will follow in St. Luke's Cemetery, Perry Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
