Calvin A. "Pat" Bretz, 79, of Windsor Twp., died Friday, May 4, 2012 in his residence. He was the husband of Kathryn M. (Turner) Bretz. They were married on February 14, 1966 and celebrated 46 years of marriage.
Born in Washington Twp., Schuylkill Co., he was the son of the late Francis A. and Hannah R. (Faust) Bretz. He was a member of the Pennsylvania National Guard. Pat was a welder all his life and operated his own welding business at his residence. He was a member of Union Fire Company and beneficial association, Hamburg; and a member of the NRA. Pat loved auto racing and hunting; and especially enjoyed cutting his own fire wood.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons: Richard K. Bretz, and his wife JoAnn, Sinking Spring; and David A. Bretz, and his wife Nadine, Fleetwood; two daughters: Ann L. (Bretz), wife of Ronald Mayer, Fleetwood; and Patti J. Bretz, Wyomissing; four grandchildren; and four nephews: Nevin, Doug, Mark, and John Naftzinger. He was predeceased by one brother: Ernest Bretz; and one sister: Marion (Bretz) Naftzinger.
