Calvin H. Bair, Jr., 96, of Reading, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2026, at Laurel Pointe Senior Living. He was the husband of the late Anna L. (Rentschler) Bair, who passed away January 17, 2022.

Born in Dauberville, Calvin was a son of the late Calvin H. Bair, Sr. and Helen (Graeff) Bair. He was a 1948 graduate of Muhlenberg High School, where he was sixth in his graduating class. Calvin was a member of Salem (Belleman's) Church. Calvin proudly served his country in the United States Navy from April 28, 1952, until his honorable discharge on December 27, 1953. He served as a BUL 3 with a Construction Battalion, known as the Seabees, an accomplishment of which he was especially proud. He was first out of 75 in his training class in the Navy. Following his military service, Calvin was self-employed as a carpenter and builder, operating C.H. Bair, Jr. Builders. He took great pride in his work throughout his career. He enjoyed hunting; loved the mountains, especially Tioga county. He always enjoyed going out to eat; listening to music; bowling, and playing cards. He was known by his family as the fixer of all things; enjoyed telling jokes; and loved to speak PA Dutch with friends. He enjoyed the Philadelphia Phillies; and was a former church councilman.

He is survived by his two daughters, Cheryl L. (Bair) Felix, Leesport, and Jane L. (Bair), wife of Todd Borkey, Ellicott City, Maryland; five grandchildren, Brandon, fiancé of Katie; Michael, husband of Laura; Deanne, wife of Cody; Hillary, wife of Elliott; and Quinn Borkey; and six great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Lachlan, Lylah, Finn, Emery, and Bennett. Calvin was predeceased by his brothers, David and Karl Bair; and sisters, Sara Schieferstein, Mabel Stamm, and Arlene Weaver.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 12, 2026 at 1:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery.
