Obituary

Bonnie R. Eckert, 68, of Hamburg, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024 in Lehigh Valley Hospital - Hospice Unit. She was the longtime companion of David H. Schlenker. Bonnie and David were together for 26 years.

Born in Bethlehem, she was the daughter of the late Earl E. Frankenfield, Sr., and Verna R. (Searfoss) Frankenfield. She graduated from Freedom High School, Bethlehem. Bonnie worked as a supervisor at JCPenney, Muhlenberg Twp. for 28 years and loved that job; and later worked at The Highlands at Wyomissing, in the housekeeping department until she retired. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Robesonia. Bonnie loved all things Disney, sewing, casinos. She loved to spend time with her family.

She is survived by her children: Karie J. (Eckert) Good, companion of Nicholas Carrier, S. Heidelberg Twp., Kyle D. Schlenker, husband of Emily, Colorado, and Bryn E. (Schlenker) Beary, wife of J.D., Virginia; and nine grandchildren: Alexis, Savannah, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Jack, Pennington, Ford, Dylan, and Jude. She is also survived by two brothers: Earl "Butch" Frankenfield, Jr., husband of Louise, Bethlehem, and Dale Frankenfield, Freemansburg; and a nephew: Brian K. Frankenfield.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:30 am from Trinity Lutheran Church, 108 S. Robeson Street, Robesonia, PA 19551. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to: American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741
