Bonnie L. Borkey, 61, of Hamburg, died Wednesday, June 13, 2012 in St. Joseph Medical Center, Bern Twp. She was the wife of Franklin J. Borkey, Jr., Upper Bern Twp. Born in West Reading, she was the daughter of Kathryn M. (Shappell) Shade, Blandon; and the late Harry N. Shade. She was a 1969 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. Bonnie worked for Diener's Knitting Mill, Leesport; Glory Knitting Mill, Robesonia; and Post Precision Foundry. She last worked as a nurse's aide for Berks Heim, Bern Twp. She was a member of the Society of Farm Women. Bonnie is also survived by one son: Gregory J., husband of Suzanne K. (Herman) Borkey, Upper Bern Twp.; two daughters: Tracey L. (Borkey), wife of Clark Sattazahn, Deer Lake; and Tara L. (Borkey), wife of Jason Jacoby, Ontelaunee Twp.; and four grandchildren: Jacob and Amanda Kantner; Selena Dieter; and Dylan Sattazahn. A fifth grandchild is expected in July. She is also survived by two brothers: James L., husband of Beverly Shade, Reading; and David K., husband of Brenda Shade, Blandon. Services will be on Tuesday at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's (Gernant's) Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp.
