Obituary

Bobbie L. DeAngelo, 69, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Penn State Health Hampden Medical Center, Enola. He was the husband of Lois A. (Folk) DeAngelo. They were married April 14, 1979 and celebrated 47 years of marriage.

Born in Reading, Bobbie was the son of the late James N. DeAngelo and Mildred (Wolf) Stufflet. Bobbie worked as Director of Maintenance for Venezia Trucking, before retiring April 2025. He was deeply dedicated to his work and took great pride in what he did. Retirement was not an easy transition for Bobbie, as working, staying busy, and sharing his knowledge and skills with others had always been important parts of his life.

Above all else, family was most important to Bobbie. He was a determined, caring and generous man who possessed what his family described as a "hidden compassion." He cared deeply for others without seeking recognition and was always willing to help. Bobbie enjoyed teaching others and passing along the knowledge and skills he had gained throughout his life. Perhaps his character was summed up best by his seven-year-old granddaughter, who simply said, "He was a good man." Bobbie enjoyed working on cars, taking road trips and watching old westerns. He loved animals, especially his family pets and German Shepherds. He also valued the many relationships he formed throughout his life and made an effort to remain connected with family, friends, coworkers and acquaintances over the years. His faith and church were also meaningful parts of his life. Bobbie will be remembered for his resilience, inner strength and determination, as well as the quiet generosity and compassion he showed to those around him.

In addition to his wife, Lois, Bobbie is survived by his son, Chris Heffelfinger, of Reading; his daughters, Tara M. (DeAngelo) Fischbach, wife of Jeffrey D., of Carlisle, and Stephanie DeAngelo, of Cumberland County; his grandchildren, Angelina and Winter; and his sisters, Deb Hasker, Crystal Weitzel, and Sherri Gould; and his nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his sisters: Patricia Paulin and Lynn Storm.

A celebration of Bobbie's Life will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg. For online condolences, and to share memories, please visit www.leibenspergerfuneralhomes.com
