Bill Hart, 82, of Leesport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 21, 2012 in his home with his wife by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife, Helen L. (Lauver) Hart. They were married on June 2, 1950 and celebrated 62 years of marriage. Born in Juniata County, he was the son of the late Charles and Tessie (Brubaker) Hart. He owned and operated Bill's Upholstery in Leesport for many years. He was a member of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, Leesport, where he was a Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. For 15 years, Bill and his wife traveled to area churches with their puppet ministry, "The Harty Puppets." They served on numerous short term mission trips to Colombia, South America; Mexico; Scotland; Alaska for 4 trips; and Australia. Bill was an avid woodworker. Bill was the loving father of LeRoy B., husband of Virigina S. (Sattazahn) Hart, Mohnton; Cynthia A. Hart, Green Bay, Wisconsin; Lynn C., husband of Lesley J. (Pryski) Hart, Wyomissing; Linda H. (Hart), wife of David B. Rentschler, Bern Twp.; and Lisa J. (Hart), wife of DeVon R. Henne, Bernville; and loving grandfather to 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. Bill is also survived by one sister Elsie Mae (Hart) Benner; and one brother Ray Hart, both of Juniata County. He was predeceased by one sister Mildred Kaegle; and three brothers Gerald, Wayne, and Jay Hart. Services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 am at Bethany E.C. Church, 308 Main Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in Berks County Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held in the church Friday 6-8 pm, and Saturday 9-10:30 am.
