Betty Sevilla Dries, 37, of Shoemakersville and Joppa, Maryland, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2016 in Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Adam David Dries.
Born in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of Rosa Marie Lentz, Shoemakersville; and the late William Henry Lentz, Sr. She was a 1998 honor graduate of Hamburg Area High School and attended Millersville University and Cedar Crest College. While in high school, Betty was a cheerleader, secretary of ski club, president of D.O.E., and voted most unique. She described herself as a social butterfly and fashionista, and was always the go-to stylist. Betty worked in business administration and marketing for the Fairgrounds Square Mall. She also worked as Abraxas Academy, Morgantown; and Wells Fargo. She was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Twp. Her Catholic faith was very important to her. Betty grew up in California before moving to Pennsylvania when she was 15. She enjoyed the beach, the water, jet skiing, snowboarding, long-distance running, driving on cross-country adventures, and going to concerts with her friends. Betty missed doing the things that made her feel free. She enjoyed volunteering at a homeless shelter, and working with people. Number one in her life was spending time with her amazing family. Betty loved sunflowers because they made her happy.
Surviving in addition to her mother and husband is her sister: Geremy, wife of James Chavez, and their children: Julian, Jazmine and Joshua, of Seattle, Washington; her brother: William Henry Lentz, Jr., also of Seattle; maternal grandmother: Catalina Atilano; aunt: Bertha Montero; uncle: Pedro Montero; and father-in-law and mother-in-law: Neven and Aleece Dries. Betty is also survived by her one and only "son", her Maltese, Romeo.
