Beatrice M. "Betty" Rentschler, 93, of Maidencreek Twp., died Monday August 12, 2013 in ManorCare, Laureldale, where she resided since November of 2011. Born in Leesport, she was the daughter of the late Sammuel R. and Mina B. (Mennard) Fritz. She first worked as a sewing machine operator at Diener's Underwear Mill in Leesport for 10 years and later worked for The Globe Underwear Company, Shoemakersville, for 32 years until her retirement in 1990. Betty was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) United Church of Christ, Ontelaunee Twp. Betty was a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of Shoemakersville Fire Company, and the Shoemakersville Senior Citizens. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to seniors. Betty is survived by: a daughter Diane J. (Rentschler) Fenstermacher, Fleetwood; three grandchildren: Kimberly A. Bonenfant, Erik Leiby, and Corey husband of Shelley Leiby; three great-grandchildren: Kruiz Bonenfant, Ian and Carter Leiby; and her companion: Ralph J. "Dewey" Kemmerer, Maidencreek Twp. and with whom she resided. She was predeceased by a granddaughter Kristin L. Leiby, who died December 14, 2012, and a sister: Charlotte H. (Fritz) Gonering. Services will be held Saturday, August 17, 2013 at 11:30 A.M. from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc. 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Gernant's Cemetery, Ontelaunee Twp.
