Beatrice B. Achenbach, 95, of Perry Twp., died Saturday, May 19, 2012 in her residence. Her husband, Elmer R. Achenbach, died October 20, 1993. Born in Mahanoy City, she was the daughter of the late Arthur E. and Martha E. (Barnhart) Arndt. Beatrice worked as a packer for 40 years for Luden's, retiring in 1976. She was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp., where she was a member of the choir for fifty years. She was a member of the Shoemakersville Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary and beneficial association. Beatrice was an avid bowler at Heister's Lanes, bowling up until a month ago. Surviving is one son: LeRoy L., husband of Elaine (Bedell) Achenbach, two daughters: Ellen R. (Achenbach), wife of Roger Hartline; and Elsie M. (Achenbach) Frymoyer, companion of Leland Shade, all of Shoemakersville; four grandchildren: Harold, Valerie, Leroy and Joy; eight great-grandchildren; and seventeen great-great-grandchildren. Beatrice is also survived by two sisters-in-law: Liala Arndt and Gladys Arndt. She will be greatly missed by her beloved kitty cat: Calli. Beatrice was predeceased by a grandson: Charles; and siblings: Harriett, Ivy, Edward, William and Myron. Memorial services will be on Friday at 1:00 pm from Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion's Church Road, Shoemakersville. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
