Obituary

Barbara A. Schappell, 92, formerly of Hamburg, passed away in Berks Leisure Living, Leesport, where she resided. She was predeceased by her husband: Hayden C. Schappell, who died July 25, 1998.

Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Walter M. and Ethel May (Casper) Becker. Barbara worked at the Windsor Knitting Mill, Hamburg. She also had her own ceramics business, B&H Ceramics and Gifts.

Barbara is survived by her children: Phianna I. (Kramer), widow of John Gring, Hamburg; David C. Kramer, husband of Alecia, Windsor Twp.; Barbarann (Kramer) Matz, Gainesboro, Tennessee; Lydia M. Kramer, Gainesboro, Tennessee; Robin A. Kramer, Bloomington Springs, Tennessee; and Ethel M. Kramer, Centerport; eleven grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters: Joan (Becker) Turner and Sharon (Becker) Hanson. Barbara was predeceased by her former husband: Charles W. Kramer; and sisters: Margaret (Becker) Yoder, Anna (Becker) Smith and Ethel (Becker) Symanowicz.

Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Hamburg.
