Arlene M. Stewart, 89, formerly of Tilden Twp., died Wednesday, March 7, 2012 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., Lehigh Co. She was taken there from The Lutheran Home at Topton were she resided for a year and a half. Her husband, David G. Stewart, died July 10, 1989.
Born in Ruscombmanor Twp., she was the daughter of the late Paul S. and Martha (Faust) Turner. Arlene was a member of St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, Windsor Twp. She was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of Wagner-Good Post #216 V.F.W., Hamburg.
Surviving are two sons: David P., husband of Carol A. (Beeman) Stewart, Windsor Twp.; and Charles W., husband of Linda E. (Rhoads) Stewart, Perry Twp.; one daughter: Darlene F. (Stewart), wife of Randy J. Hix, in Arizona; daughter-in-law: Fern Stewart, Hamburg; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers: Charles "Skip" Turner, Flagler Beach, Florida; Edgar "Eggs" Turner, Birdsboro; and Elwood "Mick" Turner, Oley; and one sister: Thelma (Turner) Podiak, in Florida. Arlene was predeceased by a son: Warren L. Stewart, died June 21, 2008; great-grandson: Shane C. Stewart, died July 28, 2005; and three brothers: Paul, William, and Norman Turner.
Services will be on Monday at 11:00 am from St. Paul's (Smoke) Lutheran Church, 2613 Old 22, Hamburg. Burial will be in St. Paul's (Smoke) Cemetery, Windsor Twp. A viewing will be held in the church Monday 9:30 to 11:00 am. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg, is in charge of arrangements.
