Arlan W. Kamp, 95, of Hamburg, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2023.
Born in Kempton, he was the son of the late William D. and Elmira M. (Reber) Kamp. Arlan was a graduate of Slatington High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a psychiatric aide at Wernersville State Hospital, working until he was 90. Arlan was a member of St. John's Church, Port Clinton, where he was organist for over twenty years; and a pianist for the Sunday School. He enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, crewel work, counted cross stitch, needle point, cooking, baking and music. Arlan was known as "Pop-Pop" to his grandson Jarred.
Arlan is survived by his grandson: Jarred M. Schlottman, and his significant other: Brandi Shoy; great-granddaughter: Nya Shoy; and three siblings: Woodrow C. Kamp; David C. Kamp, husband of Faye; and Marie A. (Kamp) Lutz. He was predeceased by his daughter: Emma S. Schlottman, died July 24, 2007; granddaughter: Valerie E. Schlottman, died July 4, 2012; and three brothers: Vernon M. Kamp; Wayne E. Kamp; and Mark R. Kamp.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 pm at Berks County Memorial Gardens. Please gather at the cemetery office for the procession to the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. John's Church, P.O. Box 102, Port Clinton, PA 19549. Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg is in charge of arrangements.
