Annetta H. Reber, 92, of Perry Twp., died Thursday, April 19, 2012 in the Laurel Center, Tilden Twp., where she was a patient since January.
Born in Perry Twp., she was the daughter of the late William H. and Tamsen A. (Miller) Reber. She was a 1938 graduate of Perry High School. She graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 1948 with a teaching degree in Physical Education. In 1954, she received her Master's Degree from Temple University. Annetta retired from the Bensalem School District as a physical education teacher and field hockey coach with over thirty years of service. In 2003, she was inducted into the East Stroudsburg University Athletic Hall of Fame. Annetta was also inducted into the Bensalem High School Athletic Hall of Fame. She was a member of the Coaches and Officials of Lower Bucks County. Annetta was past president of the Berks County Retired Teachers Association. She was also a member of the Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees.
Annetta was a member of St. Luke's Church, Shoemakersville, serving on church council. She was a member of the Lutheran Home at Topton Auxilliary. Annetta traveled to England, Scotland, Ireland, The Holy Lands, Canada, Mexico, and throughout the United States.
Annetta is survived by her niece: Susan E. Reber, Allentown; nephew: William D., husband of Linda C. (Graeff) Reber, Birdsboro; and great-nephew: Jerrold A. Reber. She was predeceased by two brothers: William D. Reber and Werley B. Reber; and her beloved pet: Branson.
Services will be on Monday at 2:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., Hamburg (off street parking in rear). Burial will be in Summer Hill Cemetery, South Manheim Twp., Schuylkill County.
