Anna R. Mengel, 85, of Centerport, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2025 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center. She was the wife of Ronald G. Mengel. They were married July 18, 1964 and celebrated 60 years of marriage.

Born in Centerport, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Edith P. (Machemer) Shollenberger. She graduated from Ontelaunee Vocational School. Anna was a member of St. John's (Gernant's) Church; where she was a member of the church choir for many years. She worked as a bookkeeper for Shollenberger Farm Supply; many years as a cook at Daniel and Arlene Spatz's restaurant at the Leesport Farmers Market; a few years as a floral arranger at Weis Markets, Hamburg; and lastly as a house cleaner. She was a member of Centerport Union Sunday School; where she served as a pianist, and was a former member of the St. John's (Gernant's) Ladies Aid. She enjoyed music, cooking, gardening, and taking care of her grandson: Ben.

Surviving in addition to her husband is a daughter: Beth L. (Mengel) Reichert, wife of David S., Oley; and a grandson: Benjamin P. Reichert. She is also survived by a sister: Janet C. (Shollenberger) Weaver, widow of Donald L., Centerport; and a sister-in-law: Mary (Rothenberger) Shollenberger, a resident at The Highlands. She was predeceased by a brother: John G. Shollenberger.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, January 20, 2025 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial will follow in Kimmel's Evangelical Free Church Cemetery, Orwigsburg. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
