Alva C. Hafer, 83, formerly of Dauberville, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2014 in ManorCare, Laureldale. She was the wife of Calvin W. Hafer, who died April 1, 1994. She was predeceased by her first husband, Arlan H. Kissinger, who died November 15, 1958.
Born in West Leesport, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Elsie (Adams) Rickenbach. Alva attended St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Fleetwood; and was a former member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Alva is survived by two daughters: Kay A. (Kissinger), wife of Dale Lonaberger, Shoemakersville; and Lori L. (Hafer), wife of Stephen Werner, Blandon; three grandchildren: Brooke, Ryan and Kelly; one brother: Dennis Rickenbach, and his wife Barbara, Bernville; and one sister: Faye (Rickenbach), wife of Edward Shuman, Carlsbad, New Mexico. She was predeceased by a brother: Ronald Rickenbach.
Services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp.
