Alphonse P. Sukoski, 94, of Perry Twp., died Thursday, February 25, 2016 in his residence. He was the husband of the late Rose T. (Urbanowicz) Sukoski who died November 1998. Born in Shenandoah, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eva (Zoba) Skackauskas. He was a member of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Tilden Twp. He was a US Army Veteran, serving during WWII. He was employed as an electrician at Lucent for about 30 years before retiring in 1985. Alphonse enjoyed completing word search puzzles, walking, and feeding the birds. He always looked forward to going for his 2 beers every Saturday night with his family. Alphonse is survived by two daughters: Paula M. (Sukoski) widow of Elwood W. Heck, Reading, Nancy A. (Sukoski) wife of Bob A. Rogers, Perry Twp., four grandchildren: Kelly wife of Jeremy, Michael, Ryan, and Jessica wife of Carmine; and four great-grandchildren: Jacob, Nickolaus, Jesse, and Gianna. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by an infant daughter: Jessica Marie Sukoski in April 1957, and his brothers and sisters: Alex, Frank, Leo, Ann, Helen, Catherine, and his twin-brother Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, February 29, 2016 at 10:00 am from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, 94 Walnut Rd. Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Casimir's Cemetery, Shenandoah Heights. A viewing will be held Sunday, from 3:00 to 5:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533 and Monday 9:00 to 10:00 am in the church.
