Alice L. Hatt, 96, formerly of Centerport, passed away on Sunday, October 15, 2017 in the Berks Heim. She was the wife of Paul G. Hatt, who died on January 1, 2014. Born in Mohnton, she was the daughter of the late William and Edna (Slaybach) Hoffman. Alice first worked for fifteen years for Wm. G. Leininger's Knitting Mill and Hamburg Knitting Mill. She then owned and operated Alice's Beauty Salon in Perry Twp. for seventeen years. Alice was also an Avon Representative for thirty-five years. She was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. Alice enjoyed crocheting, knitting and baking cookies. Alice is survived by one son: Grant L. Hatt, husband of Dolores E. (Kiebach) Hatt, Perry Twp.; three grandchildren: Linda L. Kirkhoff, Leesport, Bonnie L. Jacoby, Perry Twp., and Troy R. Hatt, Tilden Twp.; and five great-grandchildren: Timothy Kirkhoff, Lee and Corey Jacoby, and Dylan and Emily Hatt. She was predeceased by a son: Ronald P. Hatt, November 25, 1999; and two sisters: Betty Hoshauer and Thelma Fry. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Viewpoint Cemetery, Centre Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Thursday 7:00 to 8:30 pm and Friday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
