Alberta J. Reppert, 87, of Windsor Twp., died Thursday, March 6, 2014 in her residence. She was the wife of Ralph E. Reppert. They were married on December 29, 1945 and celebrated sixty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Greenwich Twp., she was the daughter of the late Anson E. and Elda E. (Mengel) Emore. Alberta first worked for knitting mills in the area; as well as being a homemaker and caring for her children. She then worked for 7 1/2 years as an activity aide, while offering care ministry, at the Laurel Nursing Home until 1989. Alberta last worked part-time as a cafeteria worker for the Hamburg Area School District. She was a member of Zion's Church, Windsor Castle. Alberta was involved with the visitation team at church and enjoyed attending Bible Study. She was active with various activities at church. Alberta enjoyed gardening, flowers, music and visiting with people, shut-ins, and anyone in need. She especially loved to care for her grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to her husband are five sons: Kenneth A. Reppert, and his wife Edith, Tilden Twp.; Terry R. Reppert, and his wife Fonda, Hamburg; Mark N. Reppert, Reading; Douglas R. Reppert, and his wife Lena, Canton, NC; and David N. Reppert, Reading; two daughters: Janey L. Reppert, Hamburg; and Lori A. (Reppert) Provenzano, and her husband Michael, Tampa, FL. Alberta is also survived by seventeen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister: Eleanor, wife of Clarence Weidner, Fleetwood. She was predeceased by two sisters: Margaret Lesher; and Sheila Kaufman.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Zion's Church, 770 Zion's Church Road, Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Monday 7:00 to 9:00 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street, Hamburg, and Tuesday from 9:30 to 11:00 am at the church.
