Obituary for Virginia M. Santilli (Cramer)

Virginia M. Santilli, 92, of Bern Twp., passed away peacefully in her residence on Thursday, November 1, 2018 with her husband, caregiver Isatu Sarrah Barrie, and minister Rev. Frances Merkel by her side. She was the wife of Rocco Santilli. They were married on December 23, 1950 and celebrated sixty-seven years of marriage.
Born in Blandon, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Minnie (Stufflet) Cramer. She was a 1943 graduate of Ontelaunee High School. Virginia first worked at Diener's Knitting Mill, Leesport; and last worked as a cashier in the cafeteria of Schuylkill Valley High School for twenty years until her retirement. She was a devoted member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where she was also a member of the choir. Virginia was also a member and past president of the Women's Club of Leesport; and a former officer and active member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Leesport. She was a kind, gentle and thoughful person. Virginia enjoyed gardening, being outside, traveling with her husband's baseball team, and going out to eat. She enjoyed the time she spent with family and friends. Virginia was very proud of her nieces and nephews.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two sisters: Lorena Eddinger, widow of Samuel Eddinger, Blandon; and Melva Wise, widow of Richard Wise, Leesport; and her nieces and nephews: Nina Meter, Charles and Susan Kauffman, Richard and Mary Jean Kauffman, James and Cathy Bewley, Teresa and Michael Devaney, Amy and William Whitehouse, Charles and Joanne Trois, Joseph and Kimberly Trois, David and Kim Trois, John Trois, Robin Santilli, Lori and Tom Wolfinger, Beth Kozlowski, Roxanne Wise, Don Cramer, Sam and Connie Cramer, and Terry and Nelda Eddinger. Virginia is also survived by her caregiver: Isatu Sarrah Barrie, who was like the daughter she never had. She was predeceased by two brothers: Wilson and Donald Cramer.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Leesport Cemetery. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Monday 6:00 to 8:00 pm and Tuesday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
