Obituary for Todd G. Olsen

Todd G. Olsen, 63, of Upper Bern Twp., passed away Tuesday February 8, 2022 in his residence.

Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Gilbert S. and Joan C. (Strusz) Olsen. He graduated from Hicksville High School in 1976. He was employed as a dockbuilder for Local No. 1456 in the City of New York. He rose from dockbuilder, to Supervisor Dockbuilder, to General Supervisor of Dockbuilders. Todd was in New York City on September 11, 2001, during the years following the attack on the Twin Towers he was promoted to Deputy Director of Dock Building Operations until retirement in 2007. Todd owned and operated a bar/restaurant on Staten Island, in the town of Pleasant Plains, known as “The Watering Hole.” He eventually sold that business in 2009 before moving to Shartlesville. He was an avid Republican and a fan of the second amendment.

He is survived by a son: John T. Olsen, Shartlesville; twin daughters: Joanna M. (Olsen) Murphy, wife of Vincent, Bethpage, NY, and Maria A. Olsen, Astoria, NY; and two grandchildren: Michael and Madilyn.

A viewing will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (off-street parking in rear). Funeral Services will be held at a later date on Long Island. Burial will be in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, NY.
