Shirley B. Shunk, 73, of Centre Twp., passed away Sunday, September 30, 2018 in Penn State Health St. Joseph Medical Center.
Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late Clyde F. and Sallie M. (Borkey) Shunk. She was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. Shirley worked various jobs over the years, she was a cook at Haag's Hotel, Shartlesville for 22 years, and later worked at Gifts & Things, Kutztown as a sorter. She enjoyed cooking, sewing, needlepoint, and crocheting. She also enjoyed arts and crafts, playing cards and traveling to the Sands Casino and Hollywood Casino.
She is survived by a son: Larry L Shunk, Centre Twp.; a daughter: Betty Jane (Shunk), wife of Michael T. Beissel, Centre Twp.; two grandchildren: Amanda L. Wagner, fiance of Robert E. Miller, and Lewis K. Wagner, Jr., and three great-grandchildren: Deja, Dallas, and Austin. She is also survived by a brother: George A. Shunk, Centre Twp. and four nieces. She was predeceased by a son-in-law: Lewis K. Wagner, Sr., died November 5, 1986; two brothers: Lester E., and Clyde M. "John" Shunk; and a sister: Mabel M. (Shunk) Miller.
Services will be held Monday, October 8, 2018 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the funeral home.
