Obituary for Ruth A. Mease (Egan)

Ruth A. Mease, 83, of Spring Twp., passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2021 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Robert H. Mease, who died October 29, 2003.
Born in Bern Twp., she was the daughter of the late Wayne A. and Mabel (Kintzer) Egan. Ruth was a graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. She worked as a cashier for Tulpehocken Dairy for ten years; and last worked for the West Reading Drug Store for seventeen years. Ruth was an active member of Bern Evangelical Lutheran Church, Bern Twp., where she was a member of church council and president of the Women of ELCA for many years. She was also a member of the Senior Berners and Ontelaunee Grange. She was very community service oriented. Ruth was crafty and enjoyed flower arranging, decorating, jewelry making and scrapbooking. She also enjoyed PA Dutch cooking and keeping it alive in the family.
Ruth is survived by her children: son, Rodney W. Mease, husband of Heidi (Moyer), Kutztown; twin daughters, Robin A. (Mease), wife of Charles Fabo, Copley, Ohio; and Ruth A. (Mease), wife of Gary Bleecher, Wernersville; and daughter, Renee S. Mease, wife of Jennifer Pease, New York City; seven grandchildren: Hunter Mease, Jillian Fabo, Meredith Fabo, Andrew Pawlyk, husband of Maggie; Kimberly (Pawlyk), wife of Brandon Shank, Jonathan Mease, and Lucy Mease; one step-granddaughter: Beth Pawlyk; and three great-grandchildren: Sawyer, Hewitt and Carter. She is also survived by two sisters: Florence Leiby, Shoemakersville and Lillian Hess, Fleetwood; one sister-in-law: Elaine Egan, Temple; and her companion of the past nine years: Robert Frey. Ruth was predeceased by a brother: Leon Egan.
A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 3:00 pm from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home on Sunday, October 17, 1:30 to 3:00 pm. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Bern Cemetery.
