Obituary for Rita Yoder (Hartmann)

Rita Yoder, 68, of Ontelaunee Twp., passed away on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 in her residence. She was the wife of J. Wendell Yoder. They were married on June 2, 1973 and celebrated forty-eight years of marriage.
Born in Jersey City, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Carl O. and Helga H. (Wolff) Hartmann. She was a graduate of Brick Township High School, New Jersey. Rita worked as a secretary for her husband's company, Wexcon, Inc. Without her help and support, Wexcon, Inc. probably wouldn’t have survived the early years. She was a faithful member of Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, Sinking Spring. She loved to crochet doilies and was often seen crocheting the perfect doily for someone she had just met. Everyone who met Rita walked away knowing that she deeply cared for them as she intently listened to them. She always remembered them and asked how they were doing the next time she spoke with them.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her children: Karl J. Yoder, husband of Gloria Field, Rockwall, Texas; Heidi (Yoder) VanEe, wife of Rev. Dr. Joshua VanEe, Escondido, California; John W. Yoder, II, husband of Andrea Yoder, Leesport; and Annaliese Yoder, Arlington, Virginia; and eight grandchildren: Jordan Yoder, Eliyana VanEe, Abigail Yoder, Caleb VanEe, Madison Yoder, Gideon VanEe, Sebastian Yoder and Mikaela Yoder. Rita is also survived by four sisters: Karin Applegate, Newmanstown; Monika McNamara, wife of Michael, Palmyra; Christa Hartmann, wife of Ann Harty, Egg Harbor, WI; and Helga Brannick, Southampton, NJ; and her mother-in-law: Nancy K. Yoder.
A celebration of her life will be held on January 22, 2022 at 1 PM at Calvary Bible Fellowship Church, 4891 Penn Avenue, Sinking Spring, PA. Condolences can be offered to the family from 12 PM – 1 PM. Additional condolences and your memories of Rita will be continued after the service.
