Obituary for Randy G. Smith Sr.
Randy G. Smith, Sr., 69, of Centre Twp., passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 in the Reading Hospital surrounded by his loving wife and children. He was the husband of Tammy L. (Wesner) Smith. They were married on December 19, 1987 and celebrated thirty-three years of marriage.
Born in Reading, he was the son of Anna M. (Christ) Smith, Leesport; and the late Charles L. Smith. Randy was a 1970 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He worked as a maintenance mechanic for Redner's Markets, retiring in December 2020. He was a member of the Leesport Fire Company. Randy enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going to camp with his buddies. He especially enjoyed being with his family.
Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are three children: Randy G. Smith, Jr., companion of Brenda Burk, Wyomissing; Mandy A. (Smith) Klein, wife of Robert J. Klein, Manchester, Missouri; and Barbara A. Smith, companion of Grant Will, Myerstown; and one grandson: Milo. Randy is also survived by his sister: Pearl Ann (Smith) Gavaghan, Cary, North Carolina; and two nieces: Julie and Debbie Gavaghan.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Reading Hospital for the compassionate care given to Randy.
