Obituary for Phares W. Fry

Phares W. Fry "Boyley" , 86, of South Manheim Twp., Schuylkill County, passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021 in Reading Hospital and Medical Center. He was the husband of Mabel M. (Heffner) Fry. They were married March 23, 1957 and celebrated 64 years of marriage.

Born in Clay Twp., Lancaster Co., he was the son of the late Harry H. and Silva (Zartman) Fry. He was a member of Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perry Twp. Phares worked on the family farm while he was growing up, and later owned and operated Phares W. Fry Well Drilling & Pump Installation from 1976-1992. He was a loving grandfather, great-grandfather, and great great grandfather. He was a member of the property committee and altar guild at church for many years. He was a life member of NRA, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, and FNAWS. He was also a member of Auburn and Virginville Fire Companies.

Surviving in addition to his wife Mabel is a daughter: Valerie Ellen (Fry), wife of Glenn G. Kershner, South Manheim Twp.; two grandsons: Wesley Trabosh, husband of Kelly (Ritchie), Pottsville, and Codi Trabosh, husband of Jill (Petruccelli), Tamaqua; a great-grandson: Levi; four step-great-grandchildren: Brady, Karah, Jacob, and Logan; and a step great-great-grandson: Ryder. Phares is also survived by a brother: Levi Z. Fry, New Ringgold, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings: Harry, Leon, George, David, Elam, John, Betty, Ada, Silvia, and Ida.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at 11:00 am in Zion's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 354 Zion Church Road, Shoemakersville, PA 19555. Burial will follow in Zion's Cemetery, Perry Twp. Viewings will be held Monday, October 11, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm AND Tuesday, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport, PA 19533.
