Norman A. "Boo Boo" Rubright, 93, formerly of Hamburg, a resident at Evans Retirement Center in Fleetwood, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018. He was the husband of the late Eleanor E. (Reider) Rubright, died September 23, 2015.
Born in Windsor Twp., he was the son of the late Thomas R. and Clara B. (Rothermel) Rubright. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Hamburg. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII having served in Korea and the Philippines. Norman owned and operated Norman A. Rubright Painting and Paper Hanging for 34 years until he was 62 years old. He was a member of Union Fire Company No. 1 of Hamburg, Behler Hein Post No. 637 VFW, Hamburg, Wagner-Good Post No. 216 American Legion Hamburg, Hamburg Moose, Hamburg Historical Society, Rain & Shine Camping Club, Hamburg, Shoemakersville, and Laureldale Senior Citizens, and had served as a Scout Leader for Troop 120. Norman enjoyed collecting pins and badges, was known for decorating his house annually for the King Frost Parade, and enjoyed painting pictures, playing cards, camping, and traveling the world.
He is survived by two sons: Ronald N. Rubright companion of Joan L. Giering, Allentown, Brian K. husband of Melanie J. (Trexler) Rubright, Leesport; a daughter: Norma J. Rubright wife of Carol A. Golbey, Mohrsville; 2 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandsons. He is also survived by his sister: Fern A. (Rubright) Good, Edenburg. He was predeceased by his other siblings: Elmer, Harold, Russell, Sterling, Catherine, and Francis.
Services will be held Friday, September 21, 2018 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg, PA 19526 (off-street parking in rear).
