Obituary for Norma L. Berger (Kummerer)
Norma L. Berger, 82, of Hamburg passed away unexpectedly, Sunday, January 21, 2024 in her residence. She was the wife of David W. Berger. They were married August 5, 1960 and celebrated 63 years of marriage.
Born in Hamburg, she was the daughter of the late Henry C. and Gertrude E. (Krieger) Kummerer. She was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hamburg. She graduated from Hamburg Area High School in 1959. Norma worked as the executive secretary at Exide Corporation, Hamburg (formerly known as Price Battery, and General Battery), for about 40 years, before retiring in 1999. Norma always enjoyed working in her garden, and music. She was a past secretary of the Our Town Foundation, Hamburg, and was a member of the Hamburg Historical Society. She was a loving mother to multiple generations in her family.
Surviving in addition to her husband are two daughters: Tracey L. (Berger) Lau, Hamburg, and Heather A. Berger, Hamburg; four grandchildren: Jessica Wagner, Kelly Roth, Nathaniel Lau, and Airman Ian Lau; and four great-grandchildren: Alexander and Keira Withelder, and Reese and Leroy Wagner. She is also survived by a brother: Gene Kummerer, Garnet Valley, PA. She was predeceased by a brother: Glenn Kummerer, and a sister: Carol Bubb.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family.
