Obituary for Maynard L. Hook
Maynard L. Hook, 86, of Marion Twp., passed away peacefully in his residence on Tuesday, August 22, 2023 with his family by his side. He was the husband of Carol A. (Haag) Hook. They were married on August 29, 1964 and would have celebrated fifty-nine years of marriage on Tuesday.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late McCullough and Anna (Horvat) Hook. Maynard was a 1956 graduate of Schuylkill Valley High School. He was a dairy farmer in Centre Twp. for many years; and later worked for F.M. Brown's as a truck driver. Maynard spent his retirement growing flowers, which he thoroughly enjoyed. He also enjoyed going to local country music concerts. Maynard was a life-long member of Salem (Belleman's) Church, Centre Twp.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his children: Diane K. (Hook), wife of Dr. Daryl Klopp, Fleetwood; and Raymond L. Hook, husband of Debbie, Marion Twp.; and his grandson: Joshua Klopp. Maynard is also survived by three sisters: Mildred Herber, wife of Lavern, Germansville; Nancy Li, Linglestown; and Mary Neiswender, wife of Robert, Womelsdorf; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother and his wife: Robert and Loretta Hook.

Services will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023 at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp.
