Mary Jane Miller-Farr, 80, of Centre Twp., passed away on Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Reading Hospital. She was the wife of Robert P. Farr. They were married in April 1998 and celebrated twenty years of marriage.
Born in Centre Twp., she was the daughter of the late Lloyd M., Sr. and Mary M. (Miller) Blatt. She graduated from Empire Beauty School. Mary Jane delivered the Merchandiser for the Windsor Press, Hamburg, for fifty years. She also sold ads for Yellow Pages and was a salesperson for Cellular One. Mary Jane managed her husband's band, Chubby and The Royals and had also been a beautician for many years. Mary Jane was active in her community and would sell tickets and pies for local fire companies. She was very involved with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, taking them to her camper at the Chesapeake Bay and giving them candy.
Surviving in addition to her husband are her four granddaughters: Jaime Heim, Nichole Perzel, Shannon Perzel and Ali Perzel; and three great-grandchildren: Novalee Machemer, Sofia Leibensperger, and Dakota Unterkofler. She is also survived by two brothers: John E. Blatt, and his wife Dee, Boyertown; and James F. Blatt, Leesport; and one sister: Sarah I. (Blatt), wife of Andrew Steficek, Hamburg. Mary Jane was predeceased by her daughter: Donna M. (Miller) Perzel, who died May 16, 2013; two brothers: William L. Blatt and Lloyd M. Blatt, Jr.; and two sisters: Bessie L. (Blatt) Webb and Joan R. (Blatt) Symons Reber.
Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport, PA 19533 Burial will be in Fairview (Belleman's) Cemetery, Centre Twp. A viewing will be held in the funeral home Tuesday 7:00 to 9:00 pm and Wednesday 10:00 to 11:00 am.
