Obituary for Mary-Ellen L. Cleaver (Keeler)
Mary-Ellen L. Cleaver, 91, of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Sunday, March 20, 2022 in the Laurel Center. She was predeceased by her husband, Thomas S. Cleaver.
Born in Reading, she was the daughter of the late Paul S. Keeler and Esther M. (Lausch) Keeler; and step-daughter of the late Helen R. (Hopkins) Keeler. Mary-Ellen worked for C&K Chemical, Reading; and was also a Shaklee coordinator. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Reading, where she was a member of the choir and participated in many church activities.
Mary-Ellen loved her dogs. She enjoyed fishing, birds, music, giving piano lessons and sports. Mary-Ellen's friendships were very important to her.
Mary-Ellen is survived by her children: Lynne K. Fretz, Rochester, New York; Paul R. Fretz, husband of Diane, Fleetwood; and Mark S. Fretz, husband of Kara, Kempton; two step-daughters: Susan Cleaver, Morgantown, West Virginia; and Barbara Cleaver, Riverview Park; five grandchildren: Alex, Max, Melissa, and Garret Fretz; and Travis Cleaver; and three great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two nieces: Helen Louise (Bedecs) Didyoung and Carole (Bedecs) Sommers. Mary-Ellen was predeceased by two sisters: Mildred Keeler and Ruth Bedecs.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, March 30 at 5:45 pm at Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be held in the funeral home Wednesday 5:00 to 5:45 pm. Those attending are asked to wear casual attire.
