Obituary for Marie B. Lesher (Henry)
Marie B. Lesher, 92, formerly of Kutztown, passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. She was the wife of Marvin O. Lesher, who died July 7, 2016.
Born in Fleetwood, she was the daughter of the late Mahlon and Cora (Kerschner) Henry. Marie worked at Kutztown University for M.W. Wood, until her retirement. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. Marie was a woman of strong faith. She would volunteer at the Kutztown Folk Festival and was a member of the Women's Auxiliary in Kutztown. She enjoyed gardening and quilting. Marie received several awards at the Oley Fair for her baking and canned vegetables. She enjoyed babysitting her granddaughter for thirteen years, which allowed her daughter to work.
Marie is survived by one daughter: Sonya M. (Lesher), wife of William D. Manderbach, Muhlenberg Twp.; and one granddaughter: Sarah M. Manderbach, a senior at Dickinson College. She was predeceased by four brothers: Leon, Norman, Carl and Francis; and four sisters: Viola, Effie, Martha, and Lovie. Marie is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Frieden's Cemetery, Lenhartsville.
