Obituary for Marianne H. Matrisciano (Killian)

Marianne H. Matrisciano, nee Killian, 88, a resident of The Villa St. Elizabeth in Wyomissing, PA, passed away peacefully at the residence of her daughter surrounded by family on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She will be greatly loved and missed by her entire family and friends of which she had many.

Born in Landingville, Schuylkill Co, PA, she was the daughter of the late Mark E. and Olive M. (Kimmel) Killian. Marianne was a 1953 graduate of Schuylkill Haven High School, where she was fondly known as “Metz”. After High School she bravely joined the U. S. Air Force and served our country during the Korean War between 1953 - 1956. After her service Marianne moved to New York where she lived until 1974. She then returned home to what she referred to as the beautiful rolling hills and greenery of Pennsylvania. Marianne worked as a secretary for Theodore Roosevelt, IV, as well as several other high-level executives at Lehman Brothers on Wall Street. After moving back to PA, she was a legal secretary for Williamson, Friedburg and Jones; a customer service representative for Pottsville Bleach and Dye; and retired from Fritz Moving Company as an administrative assistant. Marianne was a member of St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, West Lawn. While spending time in Florida, she would attend St. Katharine Drexel Church in Cape Coral.

Marianne was a smart, strong-willed, independent, loving, caring and compassionate mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile, optimism, and her love of family. She was happiest when she was surrounded by her family. Marianne was a very giving person, a great cook, and loved to eat ice cream. She loved yard sales, flea markets, and finding treasures to resell. Marianne was a master of crossword puzzles and brain teasers. She enjoyed attending the Women Veterans of Berks County and the monthly Schuylkill Haven class of 1953 luncheons.

Marianne is survived by her children: Laura J. Matrisciano-Voith, wife of David H. Voith, Centre Twp.; and John Lucio Matrisciano, significant other of Jennifer Cunningham, Cape Coral, FL; five grandchildren: Vinessa A. Ferraro; Renee M. Ferraro; Vance M. Matrisciano, husband of Jeany; Gina Marie (Matrisciano), wife of Nicholas Gallagher; and Nicole Elaine Matrisciano; and six great-grandchildren: Logan Kunkle; Sophia Dearholt; Cecelia Dearholt; Elijah Alcantara; Brendan Gallagher and Colin Gallagher.
