Obituary for Lucille S. Trubilla

Lucille Luda Trubilla passed away peacefully with her eight children at her side or in spirit, on February 2, 2024, at Phoebe Nursing Home in Allentown, PA. Our beloved Mother was born in Brownsville, PA in 1929 to Nellie and Charles Luda. After marrying Peter Trubilla, she moved to the family farm in New Ringgold, PA. Mom loved to garden her entire life; sharing plants with family, friends and visitors. She rescued and rehabilitated dying plants from the sales’ racks. She volunteered for United Way for many years; encouraging us to serve others. She was a devout Catholic and prayed many rosaries for us and the world.
Some people measure their life with their own success, whereas our Mom’s pride was in her children and grandchildren. She was always just a phone call away and took the time to write letters and cards to family; full of her loving wisdom. She always cooked for ”an army” and there was always room for our friends at the table. Her potato salad, cabbage rolls and pierogies will be missed. Dementia took some of our Mom’s memories away years ago but her strong faith in God, love of family and music would at times break through the curtain of her disease and her love and humor would shine through like a rainbow. Community Life at Phoebe saw this as well. We are especially indebted to: Dorothy, Lindsay, Jason, Amanda, Zephra, Bita and all her other “Angel” Caretakers, for their compassion to our Mom. She is survived by her 8 children: John Trubilla, Charles Trubilla, Christine Robie, Michael Trubilla, Maureen Shilko, Laurene Darnell, Tom Trubilla, Rose Watkins and their spouses, grandchildren: Kian, Kyler, Kole, Jennifer, Matthew, Rosie, Crystal, Daniel, Sarah, Amanda, Robert, Nathan, Christopher, Michael (deceased), Tara, Heather, Erin, Jason, Jeremy, Eric Kira, and great grandchildren.
A private Celebration of her life is planned to commemorate her birthday in August. Any donations can be sent to:
