Lois M. Homan, formerly of Muhlenberg Twp., passed away on Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Berks Heim. She was the wife of J. Spencer Homan, who died November 19, 1987.
Born in Passaic, New Jersey, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence G. (Gates) White. Lois graduated from Reading High School in 1942. Prior to her marriage, she worked for Vanity Fair. She then worked at Moore Body Company where she met Spencer. Lois also worked for Temple Industries and retired from Bachman Company. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Lois enjoyed bowling and was a 2-time city women's bowling champion.
Lois is survived by her two sons: Douglas B. Homan, husband of Donna L. (Gabel) Homan, Hotchkiss, Colorado; and James S. Homan, husband of Wendie Waschitsch, Exeter Twp.; three grandchildren: Matthew D. Homan, husband of Hannah Ackerman, Denver, CO; Michelle D. Homan, wife of Rick Ehmcke, Lakewood, CO; and Melinda S. (Homan) Becker, wife of Tyler Becker, Austin CO; and two great-grandchildren: Allison and Ethan Becker. She was predeceased by a brother: Denton E. White; and her former husband: Douglas Shipe.
Services will be held on Monday, February 15, 2021 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. A visitation with the family will be from 10:00 to 11:00 am.
