Obituary for Linda J. Baer (Snyder)
Linda J. Baer, 78, formerly of Sinking Spring, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2023 in Phoebe Richland Health Care Center, Richlandtown. She was the wife of Norman Allen Baer, who died November 3, 2019. Allen and Lin were married for 50 years before his passing.
Born in Alameda, California, she was the oldest daughter of the late Wayne and Helen (Ott) Snyder of Mohnton, PA. Linda was a graduate of Governor Mifflin High School. Linda earned her Bachelor's Degree from Kutztown University and her Master's Degree in Reading from West Chester University. She was an English teacher for thirty years at Conrad Weiser High School. After retiring she worked as a librarian for fifteen years at the Reading Public Library.
Linda is survived by two sisters: Sue Hulings, wife of Randy of Jamison, PA; and Dorothy Tross, wife of Steve from Paoli, PA. She is survived by nieces and nephews from both sides of her family.
Linda’s love of reading was a driving force in her life. Her time spent teaching (writing and reading) and her time spent working for the Reading Public Library was her passion. She had fond memories of working in the Book Bonanza for many years. Linda’s love currency was books.
