Obituary for Lester W. Brobst

Lester W. Brobst, 95, of Tilden Twp., passed away on Monday, December 17, 2018 in his residence. He was the husband of Jane A. (Stitzel) Brobst. They were married October 9, 1954, and celebrated 64 years of marriage.
Born in Tamaqua, he was the son of the late William and Victoria M. (Hess) Brobst. He was a US Army Veteran during the Korea era. Lester was a member of St. Michael's Church, Tilden Twp. He spent most of his working career behind the wheel of a truck for Paul Levan Trucking, Wanamakers, prior to that he was a carpenter and painter with Hill Construction, Virginville, and later worked as a welder and truck driver for Hill Manufacturing, Shoemakersville retiring in 1988. After retirement, he was a woodworking artisan and craftsmen making items for his family and friends. He was a fan of auto racing, especially NASCAR. He loved his grandchildren and babies. Lester also loved old country music, especially Ray Price.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four sons: Keith L. companion of Melinda L. Paris, Bernville, Glenn N. husband of Dorothy (Hoffman) Brobst, Hamburg, Barry W. husband of Candace L. (Schappell) Brobst, Center Valley, and Bruce D. husband of Mary E. (Richards) Brobst, Spring City; a daughter: Susan J. (Brobst) wife of Sean P. Hoster, Virginia Beach; 10 grandchildren: Aubrey, Kaitlin, Jacey, Kyle, Ryan, Matthew, Kelsey, Samantha, Kayla, and Emma; and four great-grandchildren: Cole, Caiden, Carson, and Wesley. He is also survived by two sisters: Mae A. (Brobst) Moyer, Hamburg and Corrinne B. (Brobst) Semmel, Palmerton. He was predeceased by a sister: Fern M. (Brobst) Heckman.
Services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 11:00 am from St. Michael's Church, 529 St. Michael's Rd. Hamburg, PA 19526. Burial will follow in St. Michael's Cemetery, Tilden Twp. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 am in the church. The family requests Memorial Contributions may be sent to: St. Michael's Church, at the above address.
