Kim R. Emes, 68, of Muhlenberg Twp., formerly of Hamburg, passed away Friday, January 28, 2022 in his residence.
Born in Reading, he was the son of the late Robert E. and Jane A. (Wayne) Emes. He graduated from Reading High School in 1971, and later received an associates degree in Criminal Justice from Alvernia University. He was a US Air Force Veteran He was the founder, owner and operator of KRE Security/Investigations, Hamburg and Reading from 1990 to 2016. He was a former Correctional Officer at Berks County Prison from 1980-1993. Kim was a founding member and board member of Pennsylvania Association of Licensed Investigators, life member of Union Fire Co. No. 1 of Hamburg, and NRA; a member of the United States Association of Professional Investigators, Law Enforcement Alliance of America, Vietnam Veterans of America, and National Council of Investigation and Security Services, Desert Knights of America Motorcycle Club, Intellenet, and Hamburg Fish and Game Association. He always had active involvement in community veterans support groups.
He is survived by a son: Jarrod K. Emes, husband of Lauren E. (Deroner), Lenhartsville; a daughter: Bethany J-J (Emes) Thren, wife of Scott A. Thren, Hamburg; four grandchildren: Connor, Logan, Mason, and Kendall. He is also survived by three brothers: Kevin, Darryl, and Dean; a sister: Denise; Jarrod and Bethany's mother: Millie (Paisley) Rogosky; and his canine companion: Ronin.
Memorial Services will be held Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 10:30 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street Leesport. Burial with military honors will follow in Laureldale Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 9:00 to 10:30 am in the funeral home.
