Kermit D. Berger, 68, of Upper Bern Twp., passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Reading Hospital & Medical Center. He was the husband of Dianna M. (Heckman) Berger. They were married September 11, 1971 and celebrated 47 years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late Clarence and Estella (Behm) Berger. He graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1968. He was a member of Frieden's Church, Shartlesville. Kermit worked for 28 years as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 2015. He was a member of the NRA and enjoyed hunting and gardening.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters: Teresa M. Berger, at home, Joanne G. (Berger) Weller wife of David, Wyomissing, and Kelly J. (Berger) Schuler, Richmond, VA; 5 grandchildren: Daniel & Thomas Weller, and Alexander, Audrey & Sarah Schuler; and three brothers: Luther, Arlan husband of Elaine, and Neal husband of Shirley Berger. He was predeceased by a brother: Marvin Berger.
Services will be held Thursday, September 27, 2018 at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 65 S. 4th Street Hamburg (Off-Street Parking in Rear).
