Obituary for Kenneth L. Grimes
Kenneth L. Grimes, 74, of Upper Tulpehocken Twp., passed away on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 in Maidencreek Place. He was the husband of Barbara A. (Kemmerling) Grimes. They were married on September 7, 1968 and celebrated fifty-two years of marriage.
Born in West Reading, he was the son of the late William and Mildred (Hoch) Grimes. He was a 1964 graduate of Hamburg Area High School and attended Wesley Junior College and Delaware Valley College. Kenneth was a dairy farmer in Upper Tulpehocken Twp.; as well as Roadmaster for the Township. He also was a Township Supervisor for thirty-six years. Kenneth was a member and past president of the Pennsylvania State Association of Supervisors; member and past master of the Shartlesville Grange; member of the Shartlesville Lions Club; and Williamson Lodge #307, Womelsdorf; and a former member of the Shartlesville Jaycess. He enjoyed going on cruises and going out to eat with friends and family. Kenneth loved milkshakes and peanut butter cups. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife is one daughter: Jennifer L. Grimes, Sinking Spring; and two grandchildren: Sydney J. Mayer and Owen J. Mayer. Kenneth was predeceased by a son: Jonathon W. Grimes, who died May 26, 2001; and two sisters: Nancy G. Moll and Barbara A. Andrews.
Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am from Leibensperger Funeral Homes, Inc., 223 Peach Street, Leesport. Burial will follow in Strausstown Cemetery.
