Obituary for Judith A. Dickison (Luckenbill)

Judith A. Dickison, 80, formerly of Shartlesville and then Hamburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 2, 2023 surrounded by her family, in Schuylkill Center, Pottsville, where she resided.
Born in West Reading on April 24, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Clarence R. and Hannah I. (Roeder) Luckenbill.
She was the wife of Clifford H. Dickison, who died January 28, 2002
Judith was a graduate of Hamburg High School & McCann Business school. She worked for Berks Heim for over 20 years until she retired. She also ran a food truck business with her husband and family. After retirement she traveled the United States with her family as a craft vendor at Native American events. She enjoyed going to Pow Wows & when she wasn’t traveling to them she would host gatherings at the house where anyone was welcome. Judith was a dedicated mother & grandmother. Her children and grandchildren were her whole world. She became famously known for her 6 little ducks lullaby.
This world has gotten a little dimmer but there’s another star in the night sky, a guiding light for those who need it. Judith is no longer in any pain. Her Alzheimer’s is gone; she’s young again and celebrating with her husband, reunited with her parents and brother, and she’s giving her grandson Jamal hugs from all of us!
She’s at peace! She has earned it, she has suffered a long time. She was the epitome of strength and perseverance. To say she was an amazing mother, grandma, great grandmother, and friend doesn’t do justice. She didn’t just tell us she loved us, she showed us in every way possible. Judith would take time for anyone who needed it, even if she didn’t know them. Even if all she had to offer was a smile and a hug. She would definitely make sure to cook them a meal. She was the perfect combination of grace, sass, and charm!
Judith is survived by two daughters: Amy O. Salas, wife of Narciso Salas, and Jennetta Neifert, wife of Gary Neifert, both of Pottsville; six grandchildren: Robert, Damien, Isis, Lily, Achilles and Evie; and one great-granddaughter: Sahara. She is also survived by a brother: Philip Luckenbill, Bernville. Judith was predeceased by a grandson: Jamal Singletary; and one brother: Barry Luckenbill.
A celebration of Judith’s life will be held on Saturday, May 20, 2023 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm in the gathering room at Frieden’s Church, 28 Wolf Creek Road, Shartlesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, Delaware Valley Chapter, 399 Market Street #250, Philadelphia, PA 19106.
